Emma Lawrenz is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a strong clinical foundation in the treatment of eating disorders, substance use disorders, and co-occurring psychiatric conditions. She began her healthcare journey in 2015 as a certified nursing assistant and advanced to registered nurse (RN), gaining valuable experience across both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings before pursuing advanced practice nursing.
As a psychiatric RN, Emma served as the lead nurse of a partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient mental health program, where she provided direct patient care, facilitated psychoeducation groups, and began leading medical lectures. After earning her Master of Science in Nursing from Jacksonville University in 2022, she joined a Jacksonville-based addiction and eating disorder treatment center as a nurse practitioner. There, she played a key role in opening the residential eating disorder unit and later served as the lead medical lecturer for the eating disorder program. She specialized in managing complex co-occurring conditions on both the eating disorder and substance use disorder units.
Emma is a member of the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP) and is actively working toward her Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) credential. She is also certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) and integrates evidence-based, patient-centered approaches into her clinical practice.
At Waves of Hope, Emma brings a collaborative and compassionate style to her work, helping individuals heal through thoughtful psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and education to empower patients in their recovery.
